Ingredients
- 2 lbs top sirloin cut into 1/2 inch cubes
- 3 Tablespoons oil
- 1 large onion chopped
- 1 lb mushrooms sliced
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 4 teaspoons beef base
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 cups water
- 4 cups milk
- 3/4 cups E-Z Gel
- 2 cups sour cream light

To Prepare
- Brown meat in oil until no longer pink. Add onion and mushrooms and sauté until tender. Stir in seasoning, then water and milk. Gradually add E-Z Gel, stirring constantly with wire whisk, and bring to a boil. Stir in sour cream and heat through. DO NOT BOIL. Serve over hot cooked rice, mashed potatoes, or noodles.
To Freeze
- Divide into meal- or individual-sized portions. Cover with plastic wrap, pressing wrap lightly onto surface of sauce, then cover with foil. Freeze for up to three months. To reheat, microwave on 70% power until hot--about 20 minutes for meal-size portions or 7-8 minutes for individual-sized portions.
Recipe Notes
Ground beef can be used instead of top sirloin. To substitute remove top sirloin and oil and replace with 1 to 1 1/2 pounds ground beef.
